Moalboal is one of the peaceful coastal town in the south of Cebu. It becomes one of the most beloved travel spots in the Philippines. It is known for its stunning marine life, turquoise waters, and laid back charms. It’s a dream destination especially for people like me who love beaches and summer.

In this blog, I will share you how me and my friends traveled to Moalboal and I hope this blog can guide you the things you need to know about visiting Moalboal especially from how to get there, where to stay, what to do, and travel tips to make your trip unforgettable. Whether you're a solo traveler or planning a barkada getaway, because Moalboal has something for everyone!

🌴 Cebu to Moalboal

From Cebu City we took a bus from South Bus Terminal going to Bato via Barili. The Fare was ₱210 for regular, ₱170 for student/pwd and the travel time is 3–4 hours. We were dropped off directly at our accommodation.

🏝️ Moalboal Treeshade Resort

We checked in at this beautiful resort located at Panagsama, Basdiot, Moalboal, CebuIt's situated in the Bantayan Uno area of Panagsama. We stayed there for 2 days and 1 night. This resort is a perfect place for family and friends to unwind and have fun! I would recommend this resort because it was beyond amazing and they also offer family rooms with air-conditioning, balconies, and private bathrooms. Each room includes a TV, mini-bar, and free WiFi. The best part was we enjoyed their spa facilities, outdoor swimming pool, and free bicycles. Additional amenities also include their restaurant, bar, garden, and free private parking.

🏝️ White Beach (Basdaku)

We went to the Basdaku beach in Moalboal where I was welcomed by a wide stretch of white sand, kissed by the waves and lit golden under the sun. Me and my friends just laid down our mat, and just enjoyed the sea for a while. It was the kind of view that made time slow down. It is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or an overnight beach camp.

🏝️Here are other things to do in Moalboal:

  • Snorkeling with Sardine Run

    • Swim alongside millions of sardines just off the coast of Panagsama Beach!

  • Visit Pescador Island

    • Known for its beautiful coral gardens and sea turtles.

  • Chase Waterfalls

    • Take a side trip to Kawasan Falls in nearby Badian, only 30 mins away.

  • Go Scuba Diving

    • Moalboal is one of the top dive spots in the Philippines so don’t miss it if you're certified!

We were planning to go back to Moalboal and do these things and I can’t wait to try it!

☀️ Le Bistro Café

We arrived early in the morning and headed straight to Le Bistro Café in Panagsama. The smell of fresh coffee and buttery croissants welcomed us like a warm hug. I ordered an iced coffee and a plate of fluffy pancakes with fruits. The vibe was cozy but alive. Locals, tourists, divers was there and it felt like the kind of place where everyone starts their day right.

☕️ Bawud Cafe

We went to Bawud Cafe located along the Panagsama road. The place gives off relaxed, laid‑back beach vibes. We ordered smoothie bowls that tasted like summer and that hits the spot. Their staff was friendly and accommodating. It’s the perfect spot to fuel up before a long day under the sun.

🍽️ Albur’s Restaurant

We also went to Albur’s Restaurant for dinner. It was highly recommended for its generous portions and tasty dishesI have tried their Sizzling Sisig, Four cheese pizza, Margherita pizza, and also their truffle pasta and all the food I have tried didn’t disappoint! It was full of flavor, and satisfying especially for its reasonably price. I watched the evening life unfold around me and felt connected to the food, the people, and the moment.

✅ Tips & Reminders

  • The best time to visit is Dry season (November–May)

  • Bring enough cash because there are limited ATMs in town

  • Always bring your sunscreen and reusable water bottles to stay refreshed from the sun.

  • Don’t miss the Sunrise at White Beach and sunset drinks at Panagsama.

Moalboal is more than just a beach destination for me, it's a full experience of nature, adventure, and local culture. Whether you're swimming at the beach or sipping buko juice by the shore, you’ll find yourself falling in love with its simple charm. It was better than what I expected especially when you are with the right people.
